Original play created and directed by Jewel Walker returns for the class of 2007. The actors mime the humdrum life of pedestrians on a humdrum day.

The Life of Galileo

Best PTTP show of the season. Great staging with audience participation. Science on trial, church intolerance and music!

No big names, but Brooklynn Pulver was very charming as Tracy Turnblad in her first national tour.

Spamalot

April Fool's Day at the funniest musical ever. Much appreciated present from Erinn and Jason. Michael Siberry as King Arthur. The jokes are recycled, but they're not dead yet!

Cameron Knight and Sevin Ákbar in a disturbing urban struggle.

A Streetcar Named Desire
CFA Thompson Theatre - PPTP

Luis Galindo, coming off of a fine performance as Galileo, is badly miscast as Stanley Kowalski. Pity poor Erin Partin as Stella, who bravely gave her best, but there was no chemistry.
One night later, the casting was much more appropriate with Mic Mataresse getting the lead in a very funny show.

The Taming Of The Shrew

Maggie Kettering as Katherina and Ed Swidey get their chance to shine in the final production for the class of 2007.

Being a fan of the radio show for about 25 years, finally got to see it performed live. Great setting and will make every effort to return. Special guests were Billy Collins and The Wailin' Jennys were also a treat.
Movingly staged and as powerful as ever. Sara Kapner did well as Anne although she was a bit old for the part. Nice to see a couple of PTTP grads, Maggie Kettering and Michael Boudewyns, in small roles.
Amazing one man performance by Rick Miller merging two dysfunctional families, The Simpsons and MacBeth. Miller seamlessly voices 50 Simpsons characters while a clever animation of the story plays in the background.

Cosi fan tutte
Thompson Theatre - UD Opera

I guess we've been spoiled by the graduate program, because this undergrad production was barely tolerable. We had to leave at intermission.
The Resident Ensemble Players inaugural presentation. Great to see the return of some former PTTP students, especially Carine Montbertrand as Miss Gilchrist. Off to a very good start.
The first performance by the new PTTP class, with a little help from a few REP players. Jumping right in with a Shakespeare comedy, the new guys hold their own, but I'm anxious to see how they do on their own. Caroline Crocker, playing Rosalind, looks especially promising.
Stacy Keach stars as Richard NIxon in this recreation of the David Frost interviews. Even as a political junkie, I couldn't see how this could be made into a dramatic production, but the clever use of a suspended TV screen flashing images of the time paired with a quick pace, made for a surprisingly lively play. A movie version is slated to be released in a few weeks.
From the wacky mind of Steve Martin, comes an imaginary meeting of Albert Einstein with Pablo Picasso at the "Cheers" of Paris before they both hit the big time. Matt Pfeiffer stood out as Einstein, but Nathan Holt almost stole the show in a minor role as Schmendiman. (review)
