Concerts 1980's

Memories of shows seen in the '80s are sometimes vague, but I kept calendars from 1984 on, so at least the dates should be correct. Seem to have discovered Celtic music and attended many shows presented by the Green Willow Folk Club.

Great show, and was able to introduce some friends to the band.

09-09-85 Eric Bogel Green Willow Folk Club Wilmington, DE notenotenotenote

My favorite Green Willow Folk Club concert. It was broadcast on WXRD and I regret not recording it for posterity. I have been unable to find a decent vidoe of his performnce, so this slide show will have to do for now.

Should be required for every N'Awlins visit. Step away from Bourbon Street and hear the real thing. Have seen the touring band several times since, but nothing beats a show in their home.

His wit shines thorough a thick Scotish brogue.
10-31-87 Ramsey Lewis Mitchell Hall Newark, DE notenotenote
Although mellowed since his best stuff in the seventies, a good show. At intermission, I was asked by an apparently surprised young black women if I was enjoying the show, which I was. Pieces Of A Dream, with an amazing 17 yr. old pianist, opened with a more upbeat peformance.
