A fraternity trip to the Big Apple, and my first Broadway play. I apparently didn't keep the playbill, but the web tells me that Danny DeVito performed the role he would would reprise for the movie, William Devane played McMurphy and Janet Ward was Miss Ratched. I remember that the McMurphy character had red hair as in the novel, so it could have been a replacement. I enjoyed this play and the subsequebnt movie so muuch, that the novel is the only book I think I have ever read twice.

My theatre experience couldn't have gotten a better start, since I also loved my second play. It wasn't just the thrill of naked bodies, but I still enjoy listening to the soundtract. Ironicaly, Milos Forman went on to film both of these plays, but didn't have as much success with this one. According to the playbill, General Grant was played by none other than Meatloaf.

The only thinkg I enjoyed during a short stay in LA, was Disneyland and seeing these shows being taped. I love seeing how things are made, including this behind the scene experience. Tickets being free, we grabbed what ever we could get including a show called Lotsa Luck, with Dom DeLuise, but three was enough.
