Photo 07-01-10 Museum Delaware Children's Museum Wilmington, DE touristtouristtourist
Small, and didn't expect much, but it was surprisingly compelling. Spent about 3 hours with Jack interacting with the exhibits.
Photo 07-01-10 Wildlife Refuge Russell Peterson Urban WR Wilmington, DE touristtouristtourist
Nice addition to the Wilmington waterfront. Three story nature center overlooking a restored urban marsh.
Photo 07-24-10 Museum and Gravesite Buffalo Bill Golden, CO tourist
A bit rinky dink, but a nice look at his life.
Photo 07-24-10 Factory Tour Coors Brewery Golden, CO touristtourist
Surprisingly popular tour of the West's largest brewery. Plenty of free beer at the end, which probably explains the long wait time.
Photo 07-25-10 Museum Molly Brown House Denver, CO touristtourist
Home of the Unsinkable Molly, Titanic survivor. and feminist.
Photo 07-27-10 Museum Denver Museum of Nature & Science Denver, CO touristtourist
Good geology section, but not much else.
Photo 08-14-10 Fireworks and Fountains Longwood Gardens Kennett Square, PA touristtouristtourist
Treated Gautier and Saengdao to a farewell show. Not as interesting as first visit, in spite of being based on Beatles tunes. Still a very pleasant evening.
Photo 10-12-10 Factory Tour Herr Foods Nottingham, PA touristtouristtourist
I love seeing how things are made, and what could be better than a junk food tour with free samples hot off the line. Mmmm, warm potato chips.
Photo 12-19-10 Santa Clause Express Wilmington & Western RR Greenbank, DE touristtourist
Steam train with Santa. We even had a little snow on the ground as we passed by Christmas decorated houses.
Photo 02-04-11 Aquarium National Aquarium Baltimore, MD touristtouristtourist
NIce place to be on a cold winter day, especially the new Australian desert section.
Photo 02-05-11 Museum Maryland Science Center Baltimore, MD touristtouristtourist
Los of fun for the whole family, even non science geeks. Jack could have spent all day digging for dinosaur bones.
Photo 11-22-11 National Natural Landmark Marengo Cave Marengo, IN touristtourist
We arrived too late to take the full tour, but what we saw was interesting.
Photo 01-31-12 Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Mount San Jacinto State Park Palm Springs, CA touristtouristtourist
Fascinating travel from posh , warm Palm Springs to chilly mountaintop. Nice trail with views overlooking the valley.

A ceremony to mark the addition of the decommissioned battleship gun to Fort Miles Historical Area.
Photo 06-15-12 Light - Installations by Bruce Munro Longwood Gardens Kennett Square, PA touristtouristtourist
An amazing exhibit throughout the gardens using creative light fixtures creating a Middle Earth atmosphere.
Photo 06-16-12 Please Touch Museum Fairmount Park Philadelphia, PA touristtourist
At six, Jack is probably at the maximum age for enjoyment, so glad he got the chance when he did.
Photo 07-28-12 United States Naval Academy   Annapolis, MD touristtouristtourist
Jack got a feel for military regimentation and ceremony as we watched the plebes' noontime formation. While he would love to get his hands on those weapons, is reluctant to commit to a military career.
Photo 07-28-12 Medieval Times Arundel Mills Hanover, MD touristtourist
Jack's fascination with knights seems to be fading, but there was enough pro wrestling style action to keep him entertained. Once is enough though.
Photo 10-14-12 Air Mobility Command Museum Dover Air Force Base Dover, DE touristtourist
Surprising what you can discover in your own back yard. We visited since Jack was on a quest to visit sites on the Delaware History Trail, and Poppy decided to join us at the last minute since he had never been. A larger than expected collection of vintage planes.
Photo 03-31-13 Thomas Jefferson's Bible History Colorado Center Denver, CO touristtourist
Ironic that I had to go 2000 miles away from it's Smithsonian Home, and that I finally got to view it on Easter Sunday considering that the resurrection was one of the many supernatural events that did not pass Jefferson's "light of reason" criteria for inclusion in his version of The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. Worth the price of admission, but the museum only gets 2 stars since the rest of the exhibits were of interest only to locals.
Photo 11-29-13 Children's Museum TCM of Indianapolis Indianapolis, IN touristtouristtourist
Thanksgiving visit with both grandsons to the largest children's museum in the world, and the most masterly managed box office (thanks to Erinn).
Photo 06-15-14 National Air and Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center Chantilly, VA touristtouristtourist
Long overdue visit. Took Poppy to a site he has longed to see, and he wasn't disappointed, judging it the best Father's Day in many years.
Photo 10-01-14 9/11 Memorial Museum World Trade Center New York City, NY touristtourist
Moving and necessary, but it's too much. Got burned out fairly early and zipped through the final sections. Visited with grad students Matt and Autumn.
Photo 03-20-15 Delaware 87ers vs Erie Bayhawks Bob Carpenter Center Newark, DE touristtourist
Got a package deal to this D-leauge basketball game including a pre-game talk with the coach, souvenir hat, photo with the mascot and a shot from the free throw line. Oh and we watched the game as well.
Photo 03-21-15 Delaware vs Saint Joseph's Delaware Stadium Newark, DE touristtourist
Took Jack to this lacrosse game and we got front row box seats. Followed with a few innings at the Delaware baseball game photo.

Return visit, this time to see an art exhibit created from Lego bricks and also to se the new Brain exhibit.
Photo 07-21-15 Museum Pro Football Hall of Fame Canton, OH touristtourist
Not exactly B-Mom's first choice for her birthday, but this was Jack's pick during our Chicago Road Trip.
Photo 07-25-15 Museum The Field Museum of Natural History Chicago, IL touristtouristtourist
Line for the Shedd Aquarium was too long, so we decided to try this instead. Too big to take it all in in one visit so spent most of our time in the Hall of China and the Pacific Spirits exhibit.
Photo 07-26-15 Amusement Park Navy Pier Chicago, IL touristtourist
An unscheduled stop, and while there are only a few rides, it was a welcome distraction for both Cannon and Jack.
Photo 07-27-15 Museum The Shedd Aquarium Chicago, IL touristtourist
Top of Jason's Chicago wish list, but turned out to be somewhat disappointing. Didn't hold a candle to Baltimore's National Aquarium, and their live aquatic show was very lame.
Photo 08-28-15 Frank Lloyd Wright property Darwin Martin Complex Buffalo, NY touristtouristtourist
Had fallen into severe disrepair, but extensive renovations have brought it back to life. Not a lot of original material remains in the main house, but Wright's genius is on full display. It was a project that rejuvenated his career and many elements later seen in Fallingwater were evident.
Photo 08-31-15 Frank Lloyd Wright property Graycliff Estate Derby, NY touristtouristtourist
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright between 1926-31 for Isabelle R. Martin, wife of industrialist Darwin Martin. She didn't much like their house in Buffalo, so this one had many more windows and every room had a view of Lake Erie. Still under renovation, and while not as grand as the Buffalo home, a very pleasant getaway.
Photo 10-31-15 Art Museum The Walters Art Museum Baltimore, MD touristtouristtourist
Great collection of sculptures and paintings with a few oddites thrown in, and it's all free!
Photo 10-31-15 Edgar Allan Poe's gravesite Westminster Hall
Baltimore, MD touristtouristtourist
Annual Halloween tour of cemetery where Baltimore's favorite son is buried. Reanactors and readings helped to set the tone, but the crowds happered the mood.
Photo 11-01-15 Museum B&O Railroad Museum Baltimore, MD touristtouristtourist
The birthplace of the american railroad with a great collection of trains in the roundhouse. Special exhibit of Civil War trains including the Lincoln Funeral Train.
