Misc. Notes
She was the daughter of Revolutionary War veteran William Creemer and his second wife, Phebe née Johnson, of New Jersey. On 6 March 1813, Deborah married Jacob Messerve (born 1793; died before spring 1844). At various times, they lived in New York City; Savannah, Georgia; and New Jersey. They were the parents of Augusta, Abraham C., William Edwin, John Jacob, and Amanda Maria (Mrs Robert Johnson Maynard; Amanda's son Robert married a Messerve first cousin).
Deborah is buried next to her son Abraham; her obituary appeared in the New-York Daily Tribune on 17 December 1870, page 5. Her husband, merchant Jacob Messerve, may also be buried here (although he died before spring 1844, he may have been reburied here on 2 June 1860, when Abraham was interred, and listed in cemetery records as "J. Messerve"); his parents were William Messerve senior, a butcher in Manhattan, and his wife Hannah, a daughter of Swiss-born horticulturist Jacob Sperry.
