James went by Gus. What I remember most about him was his full head of snow
white hair and big nose. The day he died, it was Fathers Day, and we were
all at his house in Bald Knob, WV. All of us kids didn't know what was going
on but all the grown-ups knew that Grandad was going to die. He had "Rock
Dust on his lungs" known as "Mononecliosis". The last time I saw him was
while he was in the hospital.
