Dr. Henry Van Hovenberg (1790-1865) was the son of Henricus van Hovenberg, a Revolutionary War veteran, and the grandson of Eggo Tonkins van Hovenberg, the first van Hovenberg in the United States from about 1720, where he served as the first pastor at the Dutch Reformed Church in Rhinebeck, New York.277
